A collection of Social Media links at the corporate or business account level.
The G010B variant provides site authors a flexible and configurable space to highlight relevant social links based on the business unit and site’s locale. For example, on the United States site (en-us), the footer contains icons for Emerson’s Facebook page, LinkedIn account, Twitter feed and YouTube channel.
Ideally the G010B is intended to showcase between 2-6 social channels based on those most relevant to your localization and audience. However, for cases when including more links is required, the G010B allows the displayed icons to wrap onto additional rows as needed.
This component can be authored to either G008B-Left or G008B-Right Footer Primary Navigation group, and can even be nested within one of the Primary Navigation link columns if necessary (shown above).
Icon links drive users to the associated corporate or business unit’s social media page. Links should open in a new browser tab or window to allow the user to toggle between the site and social experience as desired.
*Note: In rare exceptions (based on the social media platform), the Footer Social Link may trigger display of a G011 Footer Social QR Modal instead of driving to an external URL. For example the WeChat Footer Social Link on the China locale site due to the platform’s sign up/login requirements.
