Update #7 – Rich CTA Components

In this issue of the Online Style Guide Release Notes, we highlight a couple lesser-known components each of which can pack a big punch for content authors looking for the ability to configure multiple levels of rich CTA items within a single cohesive, hierarchical structure.
NEW COMPONENT
H010 Hero with Sidebar Content and Optional Footer
This information-dense hero component is used to help tell a timely platform story or highlight a campaign initiative, aided by related content items and relevant calls to action. This was originally designed as the updated hero for the platform landing pages, but can also be used when you wish to provide more CTA content above the fold.
This component has two design options, both include traditional green box CTAs in the hero image and an additional 3 CTA call outs on the right rail. Option 1 adds another bottom footer below the hero image for two additional CTAs, while Option 2 simply stretches the hero image the full height of the right rail. This is all controlled by the way the component is authored. Additionally, flexibility enhancements were made to the right rail to improve usability and readability by allowing for “special” characters to show correctly and to fix a shadow issue when using icons rather than images on the right rail.
NEW COMPONENT
VN010 Visual Navigation Banner with Tiles
The VN010 provides authors an additional way to tease important sub-page way-finding, while also featuring a prominent banner item without needing to configure this banner as a separate component. While you could create a similar effect with two other components this assures correct padding and a cohesive authoring experience.
COMPONENT ENHANCEMENT
VN009 Featured Visual Navigation
The traditional functionality for visual navigation tiles is to have the entire tile represent the CTA link. We have enhanced this component to allow a different user interaction that will allow up to three CTAs (via hyperlink text) to be shown in a single navigation tile text. You could use this as a business card for email, phone or social media links for example. This functionality is also available in the right half of the similar C083 Thematic Lock-up component. This functionality, though, is not available in the VN010.
