G018 Global Site Search
The Global Navigation also includes a site search feature. By selecting “Search” a quick animation moves towards the left and exposes the search entry field. After typing three (3) characters the system will begin to display relevant suggestions and predicted search options. This is available on sites that have search enabled.
Component Detail
This global search feature of the site will crawl indexed pages of the Emerson.com website and the emerson.com product catalog. This functions in the same manner on Other Approved Sites that have search enabled. Other Approved Sites may or may not have a product catalog. Submitting a search query will take the user to the search results page or in some cases, as determined by search data and business needs, resolve to a product details page. Search is specific to a given locale on a given site. The search feature does not return results from all locales or all sites on emerson.com or Other Approved Sites.
Interactions
On selection the search field is exposed. Typing enters alpha-numeric characters and on selection of the search glass icon or pressing the “Enter/Return” key will submit the visitor’s search query.
